When it comes to getting dressed anymore this winter, I’ve got to tell you, I’ve completely given up. Lazy might be a better word to use. Yes, let’s use lazy. I’ve become downright lazy. I’ve started using this long camel coat as a replacement for a long cardigan that I never take off my body. I guess what I’m saying is that to me, it doesn’t matter the clothing underneath. As long as I have this tried and true item, I can’t lose. I toss on this beanie, these Paige leather leggings, a long sleeve tunic and go. While being more than on time for everything was pleasing the husband greatly, right about now, I think he’s getting sick of my winter uniform. And honestly, I am too. But we covered that yesterday.
These pictures were taken during our Valentine’s Day weekend getaway outside of Charlottesville, VA. Even though it was down right freezing, we loaded up the furkids and explored both the Waynesboro and Staunton areas of Virginia. Our long weekend getaways are a little different than most, staying closer to home so the dogs can pile around with us. And we always pick areas that are dog friendly so the kids aren’t left alone in the hotel very long. That’s no fun for anyone. We came upon Betsy Bell Wilderness Park in our exploring that offers a magnificent view of the Shenandoah Valley from its observation platform (elev. 1,959 feet), looking out onto the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a super steep climb for the F-150, so I can only imagine how difficult the trek up the mountain would be on foot. But both the view and the adorable little picnic area at the top are worth it. I recommend you visit in the spring or summer, which as I look outside at the snow falling, hopefully isn’t too far away.
