Have you read and/or seen Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl? If you have then there’s no doubt you’re familiar with the “Cool Girl” rant. “She’s a cool girl. Being the Cool Girl means I am a hot, brilliant, funny woman who adores football, poker, dirty jokes, and burping…” It goes on and on, wrapping up with the consensus that this “cool girl” does not exist; she’s only being someone she thinks she should be.
Well I happen to believe this cool girl does exist. But she’s not the burping, hot dog eating, cheap beer drinking chick from the book (sorry guys). To me, she’s the girl that can pull off your basic, laid back style with beauty and grace. She can rock a tee and sneakers with ease. She’s a master of the denim game.
Oh let’s be clear, I am not putting myself into this cool girl category. I aspire to be like this cool girl, but street style isn’t my forte. I want to exude confidence in my sneaks, but I miss my heels. I like jeans, sure, but I live in skirts and dresses. To me, the Parisians are the epitome of street style perfection. I consider myself a novice with lots to learn. I will however tell you, these little sneaks are comfy. They walked all over Paris without a care or blister. There are perks to this street style that I intend to master. As for the cheap beer drinking? Please. I mastered that years ago. #nattyiceforlife
