Around the Home: The Non-Traditional Thanksgiving Meal

The greatest feast of the year is just 10 days away!  Are you ready for a good ol’ fashioned pig out? Do you have your expandable leggings/elastic waist-band jeggings/non-fitted attire ready? Can I let you in on a little secret? This might make you forgo the reading of this blog indefinitely, but here goes. I’m not the biggest fan of Thanksgiving Day food. There I said it. It’s out in the open! I’m just not. I know there are families out there with grand Thanksgiving traditions and amazing recipes that are passed down through the years. And I’m sure it’s all very very delicious. It just doesn’t jazz me up any. Good news for my waistline, right!

This year we will be having more of the below, a non traditional Thanksgiving Day feast. The hubby is going to smoke the turkey, we’ll be eating a fantastic brussel sprouts gratin and drinking our cranberry relish in the form of a delicious cocktail, my favorite part! Speaking of Turkey Day cocktails, if you are in need of something snazzy, see my post from last year. Sometimes all we need is a little alcohol to make it through the Holidays…am I right?
