This weekend was pretty amazing. My mom came in on Friday from PA, and even though we aren’t doing more than running errands (i.e. trips to Home Goods and Trader Joes), it’s so nice having her here. And, she was able to pup-sit on date night! Woo-hoo!
My husband surprised me with a special Valentine’s Day dinner Saturday night in DC at every woman’s dream restaurant, Co Co. Sala. Stay tuned for a review later this week, but to give you a preview, the food and drinks are infused with chocolate….all of them! Are you in heaven yet?
I spent most of the afternoon tearing through my closet, trying to find the perfect, little dress to pair with my mom’s vintage fur. She was gifted this coat when in college, 40 years ago, by her “chapter one” sweetheart. As a little girl, I was in love with this coat, always playing in my mom’s closet, trying it on and twirling around in the mirror each chance I got. It’s in amazing condition, and this is honestly the first time I’ve worn it out. While the coat has this magical ability to make any item of clothing instantly glamorous, it’s also one of my most prized possessions, and I would crumble if anything ever happened to it. I’m thinking I’m going to debut it more often!
