My Style: Mixing Neutrals

It was a beautiful weekend here in Virginia, highs close to 70 with bright sunshine. The hubs redeemed part of his birthday gift from April, a ride along in a stockcar (at full-speed!) at one of the smaller race tracks in the area. Greatest birthday gift ever he said.

I’ve had this image pinned to my Fall and Winter Pinterest board forever. I love mixing neutral colors, especially the pairing of brown and gray. Adding in the girly white dress from H&M softens and sweetens the look a bit, while the brown belt pulls the entire ensemble together. This dress is in constant rotation all year long. I love being able to pair it with tights when it’s colder and give it a boho look in the summer. Since it was such a beautiful, sunny November day here in Virginia, the addition of some color was a must. This scarf was the perfect piece, playing on the grays while still adding in pops of color.

Pay no mind to the dirty, pony-tail hair. I just hit the three week mark with the red, and the fading has been considerable. Because my hair is naturally curly, it doesn’t get too greasy, and I can go awhile without washing. But, it’s time; I’ll be washing it later today, and I’m pretty darn nervous. Oh the bottle red-head problems!
