The pre-anniversary trip (the wedding anniversary coming up here next week!) proved to be an amazing and relaxing getaway for all, furbabies included. It was one of those trips that covered all bases. We played tourist and walked hand-in-hand around downtown Gatlinburg, with my high-low, Leopard dress “tail” (as my husband so dearly called it), blowing in the wind. We hiked and took in the pure beauty that is the Smoky Mountains. We relaxed on the deck, which served as our personal “lookout mountain”, providing us breathtaking mountain views of the changing leaves. And, we soaked our bones in the hot tub daily with drinks in hand, contemplating our future, reliving the best of the past and talking about how to live more in the “present”. Love and laughs that make your belly hurt coupled with soul-baring discussions that feel Earth-shattering. That’s my kind of vacation!
