We finally had a beautiful Summer day last weekend, and my husband and I took full advantage of it by heading out for some rowboat action and picnicking in the park. I feel so at home on the water (it’s a Cancer thing I’ve been told), that the worries of the upcoming week just disappeared, as well as everyone else around us on the lake. It was just me and the Hubs soaking in the sun and each other. Sunday afternoon can’t get much better.
Our perfect picnic necessities included delicious Roast Beef and Arugula Sandwiches, wrapped in pretty kraft paper and twine. No utensils necessary!
A delightful, dry Rose from Provence paired perfectly with some salami, Havarti and a Tarentaise Vermont Alpine Cheese.
The lake was also the perfect place for some outfit posts! This is before attempting to get closer to the water.
And this is after sinking almost knee height into the mud, getting my shoes stuck permanently in the gooey mud full of little creepy crawlies. I couldn’t stop laughing, and as you can see, the Hubs wouldn’t stop taking photos.
Great day on the water, delicious picnic fare and unexpected hilarity – Summer memories in the making.
