Work Style: Suiting Up

I’m not a suit fan. In fact, I don’t even own a match-matchy jacket and skirt/pant combo. Suits aren’t me, and I can’t handle how unlike myself I feel in one. It’s like when Carrie Bradshaw went into full panic-attack mode during wedding dress shopping. I feel just like that. Plus, I can’t fathom spending my hard-earned money on one. No way, no how!

Today I had to “play the game”, which I hate nor am I good at, and grabbed a F21 jacket from the back of my closet to throw on over my dress. Big mistake. The feeling above kicked in, and I couldn’t wait to run to the car at the end of the day and rip off the jacket.  Memo received – I’m in need of work separates that work FOR ME! While I lust over the expensive goods (and investing in the below classic pieces is totally worth it), I also must remember my dear old budget. Topshop, it is!
